I was sent the Fifty Shades Freed Desire Blooms Vibrator by Lovehoney in exchange for my honest review. Thanks Lovehoney!
The Fifty Shades Freed Desire Blooms Vibrator comes in a luxurious looking black and purple box, with an image of the vibrator on the front. Packaging is important as it speaks volumes about the contents. This made me feel the vibrator was going to be as luxurious as the box, and it didn’t disappoint. Inside the box is the vibrator, USB charging cable, quality silky satin storage bag and a small instruction booklet.
Desire at first sight?
First of all, can I say this is an utterly gorgeous vibrator. In fact, it’s Bloom’ing lovely! (sorry) The silicone is ultra smooth and soft, it’s quite enjoyable to hold it in your palm and stroke it! The base is rose gold, and unscrews to open. This is where the USB charger goes. By having the charging port inside the compartment this makes the Fifty Shades Freed Desire Blooms Vibrator fully waterproof so it can become your new bath or shower companion.
I was pleased to notice the vibrator came with some charge so I could play straight away. This appeals to my impatience!
The Fifty Shades Freed Desire Blooms Vibrator has 7 patterns and 3 constant speeds. There is a single push button to the base to scroll through the options. Oddly, it starts the continuous speeds at the most powerful one first. I personally prefer to build up the power, so I find this a little frustrating as I have to start on the lowest, then scroll through the patterns until I work my way back to the medium speed, and ditto when I want to use the highest! A tad frustrating, but nothing I can’t live with. It does however have a memory function which means it turns on at your last setting, which is helpful.
Vibrations tend to fall into two categories; buzzy, or rumbly. This one is more on the rumbly side. You can tell a rumbly vibration as it feels deeper, is lower pitched, and vibrates slower than higher pitched buzzier vibes. Hey Epiphora wrote a fantastic article on the difference between the two, you can read it here!
Noise wise this is quiet enough to use when others are at home, perhaps under a duvet. It’s quite low pitched.
There’s a travel lock on the Desire Blooms, which is on when you purchase it. To unlock, tap the button on the base twice, in quick succession. To lock it again, tap twice again. The device will notify you when the travel lock is engaged or disengaged by buzzing twice quickly.
My personal preference for nipple stimulation is a light touch right on the very end of my nipple. I use the very tip of the Desire Blooms on my nipples and it feels electric! The tip feels like the tip of a tongue, especially when you drop a bit of lube or stimulating gel on it. I enjoy warming up in this way, my nipples become super erect within just a few seconds of stimulation from the Blooms.
I love to use the gently curved tip on my clit, and poke it inside my vagina after running it up and down my labia. It feels like a tongue so this is immensely pleasurable and pinpoint. I apply a bit of lube first. To mix up my play, I push the flat side of the Desire Blooms against my whole vulva, and simply lie back and enjoy the deep vibrations pulsing through my labia, deep down into my vagina. This broad stimulation sends me into overdrive, clutching at the bedsheets, squirming underneath this petal shaped pleasure pad. There is a ridge in the centre which is perfectly shaped to reach my clit and pussy, whilst the outer edges stimulate my labia. I dip the ‘tongue’ into my pussy and gyrate against it. In order to climax I need pinpoint stimulation so I return to the tip and quickly reach a wonderful, satisfying orgasm.
The Desire Blooms is easy to clean with soap and water, and as it’s waterproof you can rinse under the tap. I also like to spray it with sex toy cleaner and give it a final rinse, then leave to air dry.
I would recommend the Fifty Shades Freed Desire Blooms Vibrator to fans of pinpoint and broad stimulation as covers both aspects. The shape may appeal to people with different types of genitals. It’s also great for nipple play, the unusual shape can make it feel good anywhere!
I would also recommend this to people who enjoy smooth, silicone, rechargeable toys. Personally I’m not a fan of the Fifty Shades trilogy, but if you are, then that may be another reason why this might appeal!
