The Mermaid comes in a black rectangular box which is very handy for storage. Inside you’ll find the gorgeous Mermaid vibrator, a nice silky feeling light purple drawstring storage bag and a USB charger. The vibrator sits inside a cut out foam inner.
The first thing I noticed was the shape of the vibrator; it’s curved and bulges out slightly towards the end making it ideal for g spot pleasure. It’s shaped like a fish (hence the name Mermaid!). At its widest point it isn’t intimidatingly big, in fact I was confident I could use the Mermaid without any lube. This is not just due to the girth, but the silicone is incredibly soft and doesn’t give the impression that it will be draggy.
The base is also a bit wider and flares out. There’s one on/off button which is fairly small. This operates the Mermaid and enables you to scroll through the 3 constant speeds and 6 patterns.
When I first played with the Mermaid I couldn’t wait to try out the gorgeously soft silicone against my skin. I switched it to its lowest setting and glided it gently over my clit. Wow! The silicone is so lovely, I reached climax in very swift time. That was my first orgasm of the session… the first time I used it I came three times! And I only used the lowest two speeds.
As a G-Spot Vibrator
My preference is for clit stimulation but I do love to feel a vibrator against my g-spot too. Internally it feels delicious pushed up against my g spot and dragged up and down. I like to use it on the second or third constant speed as I like a bit of power internally, but I don’t need to use the higher speeds to get my power fix. I’m not a huge fan of patterns of vibration so I tend to avoid using those.
I would describe the vibrations as moderately powerful and rumbly, deep and low, purring away instead of buzzing and making me feel itchy! As my preference is for a lower pitched deeper sensation from my vibrators, this is good for me. As the motor is in the head of the vibrator, they don’t travel into the tail and into my hand which is good. Vibrators which do this can cause numbing of fingers. The base is comfortable to hold onto and I can thrust easily.
